Today we spent our time visiting the Chihuly Glass display, the Modern Pop Culture museum, and the Space Needle. It was nice that these were all so close together.
I knew nothing about Chihuly, but think my artist friend David had the best description that this person was to the glass art world what Michael Jackson was to the Pop Music world.
The Mo-Pop museum had all kinds of pop culture references. The experience reminded me of the Cleveland Rock and Roll hall of fame. I really enjoyed the famous Disney costumes display (limited time feature) and the history of Grunge Music and Pearl Jam. I especially loved the Science Fiction section while Dee was a huge fan of the Horror movie area.
The iconic Seattle Space Needle is what most people identify the city from. Featured in films, postcards, and news, this architectural marvel is a must-see. I scheduled our hour visit about a month in advance because I wanted to catch the sunset. For those that want a romantic date night, there are reservable seats available. The glass floors were a little unnerving, especially for those with acrophobia.
