We took a trip to downtown Cabo to do some shopping, take a boat ride, and celebrate my birthday (early). While it was mostly a tourist trap with rather aggressive salespersons, it was kinda fun to see some of the historical locations.
We had lunch at the original Cabo Wabo Cantina. This is the place made famous by Sammy Hagar and Van Halen. Starting in 1990, it has quite a history.
We hired a boat for a ride out to see the Cabo Arches. The seas were a little rough and the clouds started to roll in, but we still had a good time. The boat had a glass floor in the center and we could see the tropical fish at one part of the cruise.
We returned the following day for a dinner celebration at Tres Sirenas. My Birthday was a few days away, but my family totally did the Mexican restaurant thing with the sombreros and tequila shots. Normally, I think these are a little silly, but having it actually occur in Mexico was quite a pleasant surprise. It is a Birthday I will never forget!
