Once a year, my employer sends me to either Orlando or Vegas to work at a training conference. After doing this for the past 6 years I am kind of bored with the event. This year it was Vegas and due to living in So Cal it presented a unique opportunity to drive there instead of flying.
If felt kind of nice not having to rush for an airline schedule. I took some time in the morning to enjoy some Kayaking in the Newport Beach bay.
It is about a 4 hour drive from Irvine to the Strip. I took the Challenger to the car wash and then started my journey. At first, I spent most of my time getting stuck in mini traffic jams in the inland empire cities. Once I climbed the hills into the high desert it was smooth sailing. The rolling hills, the desert twilight, and finding a few solar arrays was really relaxing.
I eventually made it to Las Vegas, parked my car somewhere I hoped to find it again, and then checked into my room at the Venetian (“sorry sir your room is at the Palazzo”).
To be continued…
