9 April 2017 – Singapore – Part 1

“Welcome to Singapore” – Sao Feng
Ok, maybe that is a little over the top…but I really liked the Pirates movies…
I am in Singapore for the next month of my life on a work project. It is a constant 80-90 degrees F (25-33C) and stays around 80% humidity. Reminds me of last year’s time spent in Guam around this same time. The first few days here found me struggling with jet lag. But ultimately I adjusted, got to work, and found myself with a weekend to explore.
Singapore really tries to walk a fine line between overcrowded asian city and equator bound rainforest.
Masjid Sultan, or Sultan Mosque, is a mosque located at Muscat Street and North Bridge Road within the Kampong Glam precinct of the district of Rochor in Singapore. The mosque is considered one of the most important mosques in Singapore. There are lots of turkish restaurants around this area.
My day of walking around got cut short however. It is amazing how quickly the weather changes here from a perfect sky to rain storm. I at least got to see the iconic bay before a torrential downpour ended my day early.
